Manx is often referred to as the “Mysticssippi” Blues Man, because of his expertise in melding both East and West music together and therefore, “creating musical short stories that wed the Blues with the depth of classical Indian ragas”.
Over the last 10 years, Harry Manx released 11 Albums and has garnered a room full of awards including, “seven Maple Blues Awards, six Juno nominations, the Canadian Folk Award in 2005 for Best Solo Artist and won CBC Radio’s “Great Canadian Blues Award” in 2007″. His most recent accomplishment was receiving yet another Juno Nomination for “Blues Album of the Year”, for his release, “Bread and Buddha” in 2010.

Andrea is making a welcome return to the UK and we’ve snapped him up for what promises to be a very special Chapel Sessions evening. He is a world renowned guitarist playing both classical and contemporary tunes both originally composed and uniquely arranged popular pieces.
Andrea Valeri was born in Pontedera February 27, 1991: from Australia to New Zealand, from Russia to Canada, from Europe to the African continent, Andrea continues to reap a worldwide success since the age of 16 years.

Defined as the “Prince of the Acoustic guitar”, and a new ambassador of acoustic music, Andrea, despite his very young age is now a veteran of many of the biggest stages around the globe. Andrea began his career at 10 studying classical guitar techniques first, to pass through an electric “phase” after that, and finally leading to the acoustic guitar. Here he begins to absorb new techniques such as the Thumbstyle, fingerstyle, flatpicking and many others, so to be able to synthesize them all through his skills on the six strings acoustic guitar. Aged eighteen Andrea was awarded the title of “Italian musical excellence.”
Famous guitarists the world over regard Andrea as one of their finest!
“A Guitar Genius, one of the best Guitar players in the world” John Doan
“The shining light of the guitar world” Michael Fix
“Andrea is probably the most talented guitar player I’ve ever seen. He has created his very own style, and his technique is indescribable! He’s the most friendly and warmest person I’ve ever met, and I’m so proud to call him my friend” Casper Esmann
“I met him in a Festival in Italy, And I was completely blown away by this new fingerpicking sensation” Thomas Leeb
Don’t miss this rare opportunity to see and hear Andrea in the UK. Check out his facebook https://www.facebook.com/guitarmanvaleri/ and website http://www.andreavaleri.com

Tony played to a packed audience back in 2014 and we are delighted that he has agreed to play for us once again.

Tony Furtado http://www.tonyfurtado.com, the acclaimed and award-winning singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, is an acknowledged master of many different styles and sounds. Relix Magazine put it best when writing of Tony’s music, “True talent doesn’t need categories.” From bluegrass to blues, from folk to rock, from banjo to slide guitar, the music of Tony Furtado knows no boundaries.
Very few musicians of any stripe so personify a musical genre as completely as Tony Furtado embodies Americana roots music. Tony is an evocative and soulful singer, a wide-ranging songwriter and a virtuoso multi-instrumentalist adept on banjo, cello-banjo, slide guitar and baritone ukulele who mixes and matches sounds and styles with the flair of a master chef.

Support from Stephanie Schneiderman https://www.stephanieschneiderman.com:- Trying to pin down Stephanie Schneiderman to any one genre, talent or discipline is next to impossible. One thing is clear however- whether pursuing her prolific work as a solo artist, playing drums for all star roots pop act Swan Sovereign (formerly Dirty Martini), stepping on the stage in the musical The Full Monty or producing a wildly successful humanitarian concert series for refugees in Uganda, she is without a doubt one of the most diversely talented artists the Northwest US has to offer.

Cara – German based Celtic band played Chapel Sessions on the hottest day for 40 years! Midsummers day 21st June.

The cool of St Edward’s Church Netley was the perfect escape from the searing heat outside. Cara on the first date of their England tour played self penned tunes and songs taking us on a journey from Germany Scotland Ireland Sweden and more. Audience reception and a standing encore was unanimous in inviting them back which we most certainly will.

Ray Cooper with support from Steve Skaith

An appreciative audience at Chapel Sessions on 6th May were treated to a fine set of songs and music from both artists. Steve Skaith opened with some well received thought provoking songs.

Next up we were treated to singer songwriter and multi instrumentalist Ray Cooper with self penned songs and tunes from the north plus a few songs accompanied by the magnificent St Edward’s Church organ.

Our thanks go to both of these superb artists for appearing at Chapel Sessions.
